Upfield Joins World Economic Forum's Action Group for the European Green Deal

Upfield has recently joined the World Economic Forum (WEF) and has established itself as a key member of WEF's Action Group for the European Green Deal. This initiative brings together businesses, policymakers, and other stakeholders to support the implementation of the European Green Deal, a comprehensive plan to make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050.

On Monday, our Chief Corporate Affairs and Communications Officer, Herman Betten, participated in a dialogue with European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič. The discussion focused on how businesses can support the European climate agenda while safeguarding competitiveness, innovation, social cohesion, and resource security.

As a global leader in plant-based foods, Upfield is committed to promoting a sustainable food system. We believe that policy should support a transition towards more plant-forward diets, using subsidies and taxation to make sustainable foods more affordable and creating a level regulatory playing field between plant-based and dairy.

By joining the Action Group for the European Green Deal, Upfield is taking an active role in shaping Europe's sustainability policy and working towards a greener, more sustainable future. We are excited to collaborate with other members of the Action Group and contribute our expertise in plant-based foods to help achieve the ambitious goals of the European Green Deal.
