Channel Marketeer - Upfield Professional



If you work in Channel Marketing and you truly love Food (do you call yourself a Foodie?) then this role might be right for you. In this position you develop fact-based customer segment knowledge & insights and you actively communicate this with the team. With these insights you develop customer tailored sales stories.


About the Job

 Upfield chefs develop ingredients, products and services that help Professionals within Horeca/Catering and Bakery to prepare delicious food which delight their customers – meeting the needs for consistency, efficiency, safety, and health – without compromising on taste. Your focus from the start ( and throughout) will be to launch a thorough competitor and market analysis for your target markets. From this you will participate to help create and implement the channel marketing strategy for the Dutch market.


You will work in a small team , so it is all hands on deck. Today you will present a marketing strategy tomorrow you will stand in one of the Netherlands finest kitchens, you got to love this diversity! Understand , your market is not the consumer it’s the professional. What do you think the challenges will be from a marketing perspective?


The Key responsibilities :


  • Set the channel marketing priorities and secure follow through
  • Manage the channel marketing budget
  • Act as the linking pin between Upfield Professional product marketing, category management and sales
  • Translate the Global marketing strategy into your local strategy for NL.
  • Develop the “tools for sales” for both our account management team and our (external) field sales force
  • You are in charge of customer fairs, exhibitions and organizes trade relation programs
  • Co-development and successful implementation of BoH and FoH products and concepts
  • Define the customer journey within your channel and build winning marketing activation plans based on Customer Insights and need states


About you

To be successful in this role you must have recent experience within a channel marketing within Foodservices. We are operating in a scale up environment, which asks a lot of flexibility and agility from us. If you need a lot of structure and set processes we are not a fit right now. If you thrive on flexibility , a bit of chaos from time to time , short communication lines , love to create your own structure and get the job done , then let’s talk! But you got to love food , you got to have a curiosity and desire to know what professionals need and then cater to their needs.
