Upfield Germany is looking for a Commercial Finance Manager, a role with a focus on driving sustainable & profitable growth and by business partnering with The Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain teams. In this role, you will work together with both the Finance Leadership team locally, and with the Marketing & Sales leaders.
The purpose of this role is to provide insight and challenge thorough analysing drivers of performance (financial and market) and help build action plans to deliver on our mission targets and overarching market unit strategy.

About the Role
Within this role, you will focus on driving a sustainable and profitable growth on both short- and long-term periods of time. You take ownership of commercial P&L and you are responsible for steering delivery of Revenue and Gross Profit. You will provide analytics and insight to drive business performance and inform pricing, investment and innovation decisions. Drive robust cost and investment control/budget management over trade and marketing spend and embed Return on Investment approach (Net Revenue Management, Marketing Return on Investment, Sales & Operation planning). You partner with the Sales Leadership team to drive in-month and quarterly Revenue and Gross profit delivery. In addition to this, you partner with the Marketing director to focus on innovation development and execution (business case build and tracking, resource allocation).
In addition to this, you;
- Steer monthly/quarterly forecasting cycle to produce robust forecast and clear decisions/actions/trade-offs;
- Develop long-term financial plan aligned to strategic objectives and priorities;
- Full involvement in key strategic initiatives for the business to drive efficiencies, growth opportunities, cost control and ultimately profit generation for the business;
- Maintain integrity of the Balance Sheet for trade investment costs, ensuring clear management ownership and regular management reviews;
- In partnership with the Marketing team, build robust financials for A&P spend that can drive growth;
- Steer financial forecast process and facilitate market unit management team review process and agreement on trade offs / actions required to deliver mission.
We are looking for a Commercial Finance Manager with a bachelor or master’s degree in accounting or equivalent. You have a commercial mindset and working experience within a commercial finance position or relevant Financial role within a FMCG/Food organization.
You have working experience with SAP and preferably BPC.
