Key Account Manager, Walmart & Costco (14 Month Fixed Contract)

About your Role!

*Role is flexible to work in either Ontario or Vancouver*

We are seeking a Key Account Manager with headquarter relationships with Walmart & Costco - two of our top 5 current national customers. 

You'll be responsible for achieving planned profit and sales goals by driving new and existing business for new products/brands within the assigned account portfolio. In addition, you'll lead annual negotiations around Joint Business Plans, trade spend management and product listings and pricing strategies.


Your Main Responsibilities: 

  • Apply effective sales/marketing strategies including negotiating trade promotions, pricing, listings, distribution and shelf position to deliver targets within allocated trade budgets.
  • Develop annual business plans, jointly with customer, for assigned Customers incorporating Brand Plans, Category Management and Shopper Insights.
  • Manage internal administration including Forecasting, trade/deduction management & trade spend management system updates
  • Maintain excellent trade relations and customer support for our brands through effective execution of brand strategy
  • Managing the total customer interface Nationally and senior management engagement ensuring on-going development and profitable growth.

About You!

  • Direct CPG experience: having called on any of the top Canadian grocery/mass customers. Having experience with Walmart and/or Costco is an asset (Working knowledge of Nielsen and/or retail link is a bonus).
  • Technology: You're able to use Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing is required. 
  • Proven leadership and strategic planning abilities combined with strong financial management, organizational and analytical skills is essential.
