Maintenance Mechanic - $30.20 (12hr rotation)

About the Role!

You are a Maintenance Mechanic/Engineer with experience with Manufacturing equipment or experience within a manufacturing environment. You work through a union, on a 12-hour shift. It’s not necessary that you have a background within a manufacturing environment, but it will cut down on your training time.

You’ll be new so it’s most likely you’ll start on a night shift. Most shifts go by seniority (length of time at Upfield) but your shift preference will be taken into consideration when you apply.

Mechanics work safely by observing all safety rules, including proper utilization of lock out tag out. 

You maintain and fix machinery that processes margarine and spreads in the plant. You'll also be responsible for preventative maintenance and completing work orders. This includes trouble shooting and repairing processing and packaging equipment utilizing World Class Manufacturing methods of continuous improvement.


  • High School Diploma or GED + 2 years’ experience with industrial or mechanical equipment.
  • Must be able to use hand tools and have mechanical ability.
  • Experience or knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Word and Excel are a plus.


What is the Interview Process?

All the interviews are virtual. This will be a 2 step process: 1 pre-screen and 1 panel interview. 

Once you're selected as the ideal candidate and offered the role - you will be required to successfully pass a Background Check, Drug Screen and Physical. 

*All associates are COVID tested before entering our facility, as well as temperature checked every entry and after every 4 hours.
