Role:  Trade Category Manager

Location: Karachi – Pakistan

 Main Responsibilities 

Creating Strategic partnerships with Key retailers:

  • Work with Global team to develop the local Category Value drivers through shopper and market insight.
  • Take the category strategies to customer utilising it develop tailored joint category plans, making the strategy live and breathe on a daily basis.
  • Create channel and format strategies to unlock the category in new retail environments.
  • Conduct 360 market/industry trend analysis for the respective category in both external & internal (historic data) perspective to understand the market dynamics

Win at Range reviews:

Provide category range, space and distribution advice for retailers at range review alongside merchandising recommendations.

  • Create plans that help us win disproportionately.
  • Deliver a great instore experience for the shopper through Perfect Store.
  • Establish target as a starting point and work cross functionally with Marketing & Sales to start building category strategy for the year and beyond
  • Develop Category and Customer Strategies based on Category and Shopper insights
  • Demonstrate understanding of Channel wise Shopper Missions for complete channel-category strategy

Deliver continuous insight through performance monitoring:

  • Complete regular performance updates both internally and externally, extracting insights from these sources and using them to continually bring opportunities for growth to the Customer and Upfield.
  • Liaise with CMI, data agencies and Global teams to ensure we have the best insights and information available.
  • Provide feedback & share insights with Marketing to further strengthen consumer driven activities whilst also integrating own plans with marketing for a 360 impact
  • Pre-align activities with Sales & Trade Activation for seamless implementation & execution on ground as per the activity calendar

Be the voice of the Shopper & Customer internally with Sales and Marketing:

  • Bring the shopper and customer view to the table to the brand team aiding in the delivery of Business planning & Choices, innovation launches, promotional plans and JBP building.
  • Work on Shopper Insights & ensure integration of “Shopper thinking” into marketing plans
  • Set Perfect Store objectives for OSA, MSL, SOS & Picture of Success by Channel as a standard for Merchandising & Trade Activation team
  • Work with Demand Planning, Marketing & Sales to operationalize commercial goals into forecast to be followed throughout the year

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of Trade Category experience
