Logistics Specialist - 13 months
Upfield is looking for a Logistics Specialist for a period of 13 months to cover a maternity leave. You will be based in our Hamburg office while supporting the German market and report into the Logistics Manager of Europe who is based in the Netherlands.
About your role:
You will be responsible for all secondary, warehousing, and pallets logistics operations across Switzerland and Austria making sure we offer the best service to our customers as well as defining and implementing improvement projects.
On the operational part, you will perform daily transport order processing, providing service to internal customers (factories, warehouses) and contact business partners (suppliers and carriers) – monitoring and following up with relevant stakeholders when required. You will support factories and country customer service with special/express shipments and late notice request changes. You’ll monitor the aging of the stocks in the warehouse and help the business to sell out stocks before it expires.
On the Cost and Service improvement part, you will monitor the performance (Cost, Truck fill rate, and Demurrages) and take part in cost and service improvement projects (intermodal, ambient, direct delivery, GPS implementation, system improvement, etc.). You will validate carries claims and support the evaluation and new 3PLs.
What’s your background?
You have at least 2-4 years of Logistics experience in FMCG or other relevant industry (Retailer or 3PL environment). Experience in 3PL transport management or Warehouse activities is also valuable.
On the tech side, you’re a proficient Excel user (Visual Basic for Applications in Excel and Power BI will be a strong asset). You have strong analytical skills and bias for action which means you are capable of extracting action plans from data insights. Thanks to your great stakeholder management and interpersonal skills you feel comfortable in a matrix structure and cross-functional networks.
As you will be working with mainly German speaking countries you have to be proficient in both German and English.
