Finance Manager - Reporting and Controls South Asia

About the role;

South Asia covers Pakistan & Sri Lanka.  The Finance Manager will cover all aspects of financial accounting and reporting for these countries including month end close, treasury, tax, audit, statutory reporting, and R2R liaison with the shared service center.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Controls;

Over all responsibility of month end close covering all finance pillars (P2P, R2R, O2C ets.) in liaison with shared service centre.

Balance Sheet Review & Hygiene forms an integral part of this role.

Review balance sheet reconciliations for key general ledger codes, challenge where necessary and use the shared service function to help on R2R queries.

Responsible to ensure Financial Control Health Indicators (CHI) remain below threshold

Work closely with external auditors to plan and deliver external audit at year end and ensure there is alignment on key deliverables & areas of focus.

Co ordinate direct reports to ensure prioritisation of audit requirements.

Ensure all regulatory compliance i.e. SECP, FBR, Tax etc.

Be well versed in IFRS reporting standards and keep up to speed with any new developments.

Tax, Legal & Statutory (TLS);

In conjunction with EY, be able to understand the local tax computations for the statutory audits.

Work with Sri Lanka Financial controller on SL local tax requirements including filing on time and to be able to answer any queries raised by local tax bodies.

Review and sign off on Corporation Tax payments made for Pakistan & Sri Lanka.

Key point of contact (Pakistan) for ensuring statutory requirements and timelines are fulfilled and met on time and in full. This includes liaising with Upfield Legal Support, External Corporate & Regulatory authorities.

Ensuring timely filing & submission of Tax returns.

Advise on the accounting implications of draft contracts, other arrangements, and one-off transactions.

Support local finance teams and leaders with the implementation and practical execution of the global accounting policy.

Demonstrated capability to take responsibility for the end-to-end execution of Treasury related operations (FX, Factoring, IC Loans Reconciliations, Derivatives, Debt etc.)


Preparation cash flow forecast.

Run working capital initiatives at South Asia Market level to ensure optimal cash management.

Close Liaison with Central Bank & partner banks to fast track remittances in Pakistan.

Ensuring adequate funding of the entities within the countries.

Oversee cash forecasting process and steering delivery of cash conversion and working capital

Drive visibility and understanding of cash drivers and required actions across business.


Develop, implement and monitor strong internal control environment across all business processes.

Active risk management with a focus on driving key actions in partnership with country leadership team.

Maintenance of financial controls – ensuring adherence to Upfield’s accounting policy and raising awareness of risk management and financial controls compliance.

Proper accounting of Capital Investments (CAPEX).

Perfect Candidate!

We are looking for a Finance Manager with roughly 3-5 years of experience in Finance - ideally in the food or consumer goods industry but not a must. You are confident with Excel, experience with SAP is mandatory.  

An ideal candidate must have a degree in Finance preferably trained with Big 3 or MBA in Finance from HEC recognized university.

In depth knowledge and skills in following finance areas: Net Revenue management, Budgeting and Costing, Reporting and Controlling, professional accounting qualifications.

Proven ability to work in a matrix organization and cross functional networks with multiple stakeholders.

Entrepreneurship mindset in goal orientation.

High flexibility and ability to adapt fast in dynamic environment.

Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and ability to build relations and coordinate across multiple stakeholders.

Strategic approach, and strong analytical skills to assess risk and be financially savvy.
