Indirects Procurement Buyer - Marketing and Business Services

Job Purpose

The Upfield team is looking for an experienced buyer who is passionate about sourcing optimal services with the best suppliers with a focus on cost optimization to keep the control company overall operating expense and best-in-class contract favorability.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the sourcing, selection, and procurement of services in Marketing and Business Services categories
  • Work closely with the brand teams to support deliver the category strategy
  • Category knowledge and terminology is a must together with industry best practices
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners to optimize marketing spend
  • Contract management review with in-depth business knowledge; and liaison between Legal and Business Unit
  • Investigates, identifies and implements alternative sourcing options for services with the goal to reducing overall cost; provide alternate source vendors where required to meet business needs
  • Develops and maintains supplier relationships to ensure performance expectations and service level requirements while ensuring continuous improvement and the encouragement of innovative ideas
  • Develop and launch RFQs / RFPs (request for quotation/proposal) to select suppliers in targeted categories
  • Analyze the proposals and make recommendations to key internal stake holders and line manager
  • Participate and lead in projects implementation by respecting the budgets / schedules / standards quality of Upfield, using the appropriate financial tools
  • Identify Value Creation projects to create savings opportunities, validate with finance, seek and attain buy-in for these projects, build budget with other functions, realize and track savings
  • Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and contracts award process
  • Prepare purchase requisitions (PRs) and purchase orders (POs) in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers and in line with organizational targets and requirements
  • Prepare standard baseline purchase requisitions in which PR notes must be solid, and even reference contracts, dates, GL/cost center details, etc.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Higher professional education / university degree
  • Experience in Procurement, Marketing, Business Services
  • Proven and relevant track record in Indirects Procurement for at least 3 years
  • Manages change, ambiguity, complexity, and drives for optimum results
  • Strong analytical skills and project management skills and superb negotiation skills to interface with suppliers and internal management
  • Exemplify a high degree of personal integrity and interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient in both verbal and written communication and focused on collaboration.

This role is part of the North America Indirects Team reporting directly to the Senior Procurement Manager for Indirects.
