Global Consumer Insights Analyst

We are looking for a Consumer Insights Analyst who is ready to take the next step in their career in marketing (research) and data analytics. We are looking for someone who understands the ins-and-outs of market research and wants to learn the business implementation and data analytics to develop into a well-rounded researcher.

The role will support the Global Consumer Marketing Insights & Data team to democratize consumer and market data for everyone in Upfield. Specifically, the job will focus on market research projects for Upfield brands globally, analyzing global continuous data (retail, brand health) and synthesizing (food) trends.


About the Role

Main Responsibilities

  • The role will support the Global Consumer Marketing Insights & Data team to democratize consumer and market data for everyone in Upfield.
  • Commissioning and leading market research projects together with our agency partners where you will interpret and communicate key findings and recommendations.
  • Advising (and executing strategic) ad-hoc market research projects locally in Europe, Africa and Asia.
  • Support in meta-analysis of studies conducted globally to share learnings back into the business.
  • Apply best practice and tools where relevant but be open and eager to try new ways of working to help Upfield move towards a more agile and cost-effective business model.
  • Extract, analyze and interpret continuous data and synthesize in to a clear and compelling story that drives action


About you

For this role, we are looking for someone with 2+ years of agency or client side market research / data analytics experience. In addition, you have a Bachelor’s degree with a strong mathematical and statistical background. You are detailed-oriented, you understand the sense of urgency and you can adapt to changing priorities quickly. In this role, you will have a wide scope of responsibilities and you will collaborate across a wide team of stakeholders (marketeers, brand managers) globally. In order to have a successful collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, you have strong communication skills and you are able to turn numbers and statistics into actionable insight, and find the practical "so what" for our marketing teams, you are confident in presenting findings and speaking in all kinds of (digital) meetings.

You are curious! Questions motivate you more than answers, and you are excited to continue learning in the rapidly evolving technology landscape. You work organized and you have a practical approach when it comes to sorting insights from many markets, brands and data sources, which will be challenging. You are excited to learn about new research techniques and continuously expand your market research knowledge.

Professional skills & experience


  • You are proactive and work independently to deliver fact based objective views of the business and take great personal ownership and responsibility.
  • Good analytical thinking and comfortable with numbers. Hands-on experience in quantitative data required.
  • You have superior Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • You know the ins and outs of a market research project, from proposal to debrief and you have good project management skills.
  • A team player, pro-active, with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
