Director of Corporate Affairs and Communications (1 year contract - Maternity cover))
About the role:
This role is a maternity cover with a contract of 12 months. As the temporary Director of Corporate Affairs and Communications, you will lead on the Company’s narrative and ensure all internal stakeholders are engaged and utilise the core narrative. In addition to that, you will protect the company’s reputation, by ensuring that all risks, current and potential are mapped and supported with appropriate comms plans. Furthermore, you will lead and execute on all group crisis comms, ensure that the local leads are engaged and informed, as well as lead on regulatory/policy issues for Upfield. Also, you will lead on all tier 1 media issues for Upfield and lead the global team and indirectly manage the local teams to deliver an aligned and coordinated communications and public affairs strategy of Upfield.
You will work with senior executives to ensure Corp Affairs has an appropriate voice at the Exec Committee, thereby protecting and promoting Upfield and manage all Upfield external social media channels including creative executions (social and website). Other important tasks will be to develop and lead on Upfield proactive corporate communication campaigns to support strategic priorities as well as provide strategic insight into brand and marketing communications working closely with the global PR lead. You will act as custodian of the Upfield brand.
You can communicate the company’s sustainability mission in support of the Head of Sustainability and work with and understand Investor Relations to support the Head of IR communicate the Company’s strategy and performance. Additionally, you can work with the Head of Employee Engagement to ensure the Company’s core narrative is communicated to Upfielders and work with R&D team to identify opportunities for proactive media relations and stakeholder engagement. You are good with internal stakeholder management. You are diplomatic, agile, flexible & pragmatic.
What we offer:
- A yearly gross base salary of minimum 150K GBP (depending on the experience).
- Paid annual leave of 25 days + 8 bank days.
