Upfield is looking for a Category Manager to strengthen our North West Europe Category team. You will play an important role in unlocking the Plant-based power with the main Finish customers (SOK & Kesco) as well as being at the forefront of consumer and shopper behaviour in our categories . Together cross-functionally with the local Sales & Marketing teams you will leverage and translate the full capability of the Global Upfield organization into a localised plan to drive sustainable, value growth. You will be responsible for building, accelerating and driving sustainable relationships with our customers in order to achieve the desire outcome for the business, the category and our consumers.
We are at the forefront of plant-based trends and therefore for our customers, you will be representing a business who stand firmly behind providing healthy, plant-based options at the dinner table of our consumers.
As Category Manager, you’re focused on both our products as well as the wider category including our competition, and will have to drive forwards unbiased recommendations in the best interests of the customer. Internally, you’ll be the critical link between the internal Sales & Marketing teams and help establish a great relationship with local customers to execute the plan accordingly. Whilst focusing on category growth for our brands to ensure we win in the market, you’ll also be developing the wider category & land the core category growth vision & strategy in partnership within the key retailers, to improve share of shelf, optimize pricing & promotional mechanics and drive penetration across the portfolio. The pricing & performance analysis you’ll lead will be crucial, both externally and internally making strong recommendations both internally & externally, all cemented on actionable insight.
Ideally you’ll bring at least a few years of experience in a Commercial or Category Management role. Preferably you’ll have experience within FMCG / Food as well, however this is not a must and we are after the right candidate profile for this role more than anything. Any experience with Kesco/SOK is highly preferred, whether that be supplier or retailer side.
You have excellent analytics skills and you love looking at the data and coming up with insights and recommendations to grow and push the business into the right direction. You are a great communicator in both Finnish and English to build relationships with both the internal teams but also crucially our external partners.
Ideally, you’ve been working within companies that have a clear, focused ESG agenda. Or as a minimum have a genuine passion for plant-based products to use this passion externally with retailers and show them how you're able to grow the category. You can work seamlessly cross-functionally, whether that be with our Key Account Managers, Brand Managers or other teams across the business whilst also leveraging strong relationships with our key customers.
