About the role:

For Violife, a huge amount of our success has come thanks to our Category team, and now we are looking for a future leader to join us on arguably one of the most exciting journeys within the food industry. Reporting to the Head of Violife, this role will be working on the crown jewel within the Upfield portfolio. The key focus of this role is to business partner with the Head of Violife and use the data we buy to grow the exciting new addition to the Upfield portfolio. In this role you must put yourself in the shoes of the shopper to deliver best in class insight to our retailers and our business, developing strategies, solutions, and recommendations to grow the category and our mutual businesses accordingly

Main Responsibilities:

You will be working with the Northern Europe Violife team to embed the category growth drivers through both consumer and shopper whilst ensuring to keep a firm eye on the market and competitor insights. You will personally lead and drive the category strategy in partnership with our customers, developing tailored joint category plans, bringing the strategy to life and truly living and breathing the Violife brand. In addition, a key part of your role will be to create new channel and format opportunities for the business, opening up the brand to new retail environments.

You will be a critical member of the wider team, providing invaluable category range, space, merchandising and distribution advice for retailers, especially aligned to key range review events. You will be responsible for creating best in class selling stories that will help Violife, and therefore Upfield, win disproportionately in the market.

You will be at the forefront of analysing performance, both internally and externally, extracting key actionable insights and using them to continually bring growth opportunities for both the Customer and Upfield.

With a key focus on the shopper and the consumer, you’ll be critical in bringing the external view back into the business, supporting the wider teams including Sales, Brand, Finance & Supply Chain in order to aid the delivery of business planning, innovation launches, promotional plans and JBP building.  

About you:

You’ve ideally got a wealth of past experience in the FMCG sector or from a data agency background and know your numbers. Category management experience is crucial, as well as the ability to analyse data and generate actionable insights. You’ll be experienced in working with data and are highly proficient on platforms like Kantar, Nielsen and Dunnhumby.  We’re looking for a self-starter, and you’ll be responsible for coming up with new strategies as well as implementing them both internally and externally. From a personal profile perspective, we’re looking for someone who’s resilient, commercially driven and has the ability to build strong customer relationships. In addition, you are someone excited by new challenges, driven, and willing to go the extra mile to find new opportunities.
