Customs & Logistics Specialist

Are you passionate about logistics? Do you also have basic knowledge of Customs related activities? We are looking for someone that can focus on both. You will support key logistics activities and custom related activities for Switzerland. No daily day will be the same as this is a very hybrid role.

About the position 

The role is a combination of customs (20 hours) and logistic activities (20 hours). As part of every role at Upfield, we expect a proactive approach to suggest improvements to the wider processes and the ways of working, both on this role’s content as well as any other area.

So what are the key objectives / projects you will deliver in the first year?

  • You are responsible for customs related activities for Switzerland, including sharing specific commodity codes, duty rates and reserving Suisse fees per SKU
  • You will be responsible for controlling the monthly reports from broker expeditors and managing the projects related to these projects
  • You will support, control and implement agreed export procedures, archive/organize all export related documents, and manage all necessary export licenses including regulatory requirements. You will also manage export administration relating to tariff codes, country specific export codes, FTA's origin calculations and correct calculations of products.
  • You will be supporting the logistics controller on customs costs for several countries and creating the budget on customs duties

  • You will be back-up for stock reconciliation process, to align the stock of the WMS of our 3PLs and SAP
  • You will be supporting the different markets in the Southwest Europe cluster on logistic activities, such as reporting, improvements with the warehouses and transport to our customers, cost control, customer claims

So what does it take to be successful in this role? 

Maybe you have worked in a similar role for the past 3 years in logistics and are now ready to go into a more hybrid role. You have some knowledge or experience of customs-related activities. You are very analytical and have a very structured way of working, you like your lists and checks, and you work precisely. Ideally you have worked before with SAP. You are ready to enjoy working in a fast-paced environment & we will give you the full ownership you need to make a real impact.
