Plant Protein and Fermentation Expert

I guess you are familiar with the ancient practice of using microbes in food. Being an expert in Plant protein Fermentation you know the scientific challenges your role brings, and you thrive on that. As a plant protein fermentation expert, you will create the technology expertise agenda for plant protein fermentation across the product technology areas (eg. creams, cheese, spreads).

About the position  

The role requires you to deliver the new technology (with internal and external expertise) to create the best tasting, natural/clean label, performing plant-based food products in the world. You will work in close collaboration with our senior plant protein expert. The role requires someone experienced in plant protein-based fermentation, enzymatic modifications and/or bioprocessing and therefore able to develop best-in-class technology for our product portfolio bringing great taste, texture and performance.

 

So what are the key objectives / projects you will deliver in the first year?  

  • Exploring different plant protein fermentation and enzymatic modification pathways delivering taste and protein functional benefits.
  • Building an external eco-system in the relevant field of plant protein fermentation. Capable to connect with suppliers, academics, research institutes, third parties.  
  • Contribute to improvement in product and process performance in multidisciplinary teams. 

 

So what does it take to be successful in this role?  

Maybe you have worked in a similar role for the past 2 to 3 years working with Plant protein fermentation, enzymatic modifications and/ or bioprocessing. Ideally you have a master’s degree in food technology, biochemistry, enzymology, or any other related field. You could also have a PhD the area of plant protein fermentation, enzymatic modifications, precision fermentation or alike. You have hands on experience with lab scale fermentation and enzyme modification tests. You have knowledge of plant-based foods, ideally cheese, creams and spreads. You are ready to connect innovations to technologies and shape the external world.
