Financial & Operations Controller

About the Role! 

Managing the finance and accounting operations for Upfield GEC and UK Corporate entities, including performing month-end close accounting, management and financial report preparation, trial balance preparation and review, regular monthly and weekly finance reporting, ad hoc projects as required.  

Main Responsibilities:  

Supporting Global Export Company (GEC) & UK Corporate Entities 

  • Partnering with export market finance and operational (sales, supply chain, export) teams to ensure timely delivery to customers  
  • Support business development projects to implement new export flows 
  • Performing the finance month/year-end working with Financial and Supply chain shared services to ensure timely and accurate month end close and associated reporting activities. 
  • Provide critical support and challenge to the export market teams to help understand and optimise their results 
  • Key business partner to non-finance stakeholders 
  • Responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable supported by the Finance Assistant.  
  • Review inter-company transactions and settlements ensuring correct transfer pricing, accurate reporting and alignment with GEC design principles supported by FSS and Treasury  
  • Lead the statutory reporting and audit process, in conjunction with the external auditors. 

 

What it takes to be successful?  

 

You bring the ability to perform and adapt quickly to frequently changing priorities within a fast-paced environment. You have experience of working with ERP and Consolidation systems (SAP preferential) and extensive experience working on month end close activities. You have experience in managing multiple stakeholders and change project activities.  

 

  • Professional Accounting qualification CIMA, ACCA or finalist stage.  
  • Proven ability to work in a matrix organization (cross-functional) with multiple stakeholders, with the ability manage upwards as the “team experts” in some areas. 
  • 3+ years’ experience in similar roles 

 

You bring the ability to influence and communicate effectively across diverse cultural and business environments. You work delivery-focused with a high degree of ownership and you must be willing to get their hands dirty in multiple activities due to the lean team. You are collaborative and have a team-oriented mindset. You bring a drive, energy and passion for developing business and financial processes and capabilities
