R&D Intern Packaging

Hybrid, 2 days Lab Work & 3 days Desk Work
Start date: March 2023 (5-6 months)
About the position
We are looking for a passionate and determined R&D intern to support the Packaging Development team. Part of the internship is to validate a new sustainable packaging material for an existing packaging format. The validation will also include an assessment to see whether it is possible to lightweight the pack at the same time. Dialog with the packaging material suppliers, marketing, supply chain and the quality assurance department will be part of the assignment. The validation process will include both laboratory and production line testing in the factory, and some travelling is required. You will be doing delivery of tests preparation & execution, measurements, DoE, etc. You will be interfacing with packaging material suppliers. On top of that, you report back on findings (conclusions and recommendations) and present project to key stakeholders.
So what does it take to be successful in this role?
You are currently enrolled as a student in the Netherlands in Industrial Design Haagse Hogeschool/HAS Green Academy in Food Innovation, Packaging, and Design. Basic knowledge on packaging materials and/or engineering is a plus. You are fluent in English and have good communication skills, with analytical behavior/approach.
