Upfielders in Action
We are network of over 4000 foodies, innovators and insurgents. We are Generation Plant.
We are dedicated to our core values of Passion, Care and Performance and strive every day to reflect our Purpose through the actions that we take and the decisions that we make. You can read our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion policy here.
Come as you are
At Upfield we come as we are. There is the freedom to be you. Generation Plant is everyone. All ages. All faces. All tastes. Bringing to the table a passion for a better world and all things plant-based.
We believe in equal opportunities for our entire workforce, regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, disability, religion or socio-economic background. Creating equal opportunities for people of all backgrounds is not only the right thing to do, but also is best for business. We know that demographic diversity leads to diversity of thought, and that an inclusive culture leads to a flourishing workforce.
One of the ways we foster inclusion is through Upfielder Networks. We encourage the creation of these groups and provide the tools, framework processes and resources to develop, meet and make decisions. Upfielder Networks support individuals who share a common demographic, while also engaging allies and the wider business. For example, Upfielders have formed a LGBTQ+ network, a network for parents and a network for mental health. All Upfielder Networks are sponsored and supported by a member of our Executive Committee. This ensures Upfielder Networks are represented in relevant decision-making processes within our company.

Happy & Healthy Advocates
Our global team of Healthy and Happy Champions design and support a variety of initiatives across Upfield. They include activities around mental wellbeing, volunteering, nutrition, and physical wellbeing. Examples include running activities, healthy e-breakfast cook-alongs, co-financing workspaces, and last year we participated in the Virgin Pulse Challenge, encouraging everyone to get active. This dedicated team is key to ensuring our community of Upfielders stay happy and healthy all year round.
We want to create the conditions and provide the right tools and resources that ensure better careers, optimum health and happiness whilst delivering the goal of sustainable high performance.
Everyone needs downtime to rest and recharge. At Upfield we’ve have set aside specific days throughout 2021 as dedicated Rest & Recharge days. We encourage Upfielders to spend time away from their desks doing something else they love.
Bettering our business
We strive for continuous improvement across all areas of our business. In line with our core value of performance, we are always looking to ensure that we are operating at our best. This year we launched our Young Advisory Board (YAB). The YAB is a diverse group of young Upfielders, who work directly with senior leaders at Upfield and act as a sounding board to ensure that decisions are also representative of the younger Upfield population.
Bi-annually we launch our Upfield survey to collate feedback from our Upfielders on what we could do better. The results are shared with the leadership team who can act in the form of continuous improvements.
Cultivating Growth
To make sure that we continually learning and pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve we developed a Global Mentoring Programme. It connects mentees and mentors from all over the company. Already drawing in over 100 global participants in a short period of time our plan is to grow this network in the years to come.
We have a global development series open to everyone, covering topics such as career planning, to boost personal development and help managers grow everyone in their teams. We had over 2,800 attendees join this journey in the first half of 2021 alone.
